Australian dollar ends higher

SYDNEY, April 26 — A rise in commodity prices helped push the Australian dollar back above the 103 U.S. cent level on Friday.

At the closing session, the Australian dollar was trading at 103.10 U.S. cents, up from 102.46 U.S. cents on Wednesday.

During the day, the local unit traded between 102.88 U.S. cents and 103.37 U.S. cents.

At 1700 local time, the Australian dollar was at 101.77 Japanese yen, down from Wednesday’s close of 101.97 yen and at 79. 15 euro cents, up from 78.79 euro cents.
