Louise Sydes, a 102 years old English lady reaching Auckland last Saturday, became the oldest migrant of New Zealand at present.

During her stay in Britain, the rest home she stayed has been closed. Thereafter, she found it necessary to improve her life condition and made up her mind to move to New Zealand to stay with her daughter and son-in-law.

The long journey from London to Auckland exhausted her. In this case, her daughter came to meet her in Britain by air.

Briton Eric King-Turner, a recent migrant aged 102, unfortunately passed away in 2009.
