According to IRB new world ranking, among 21 teams, only 15 got a different ranking. Canada rose dramatically from No.14 to No.11; Ireland from No.8 to No.6; South Africa from No.3 to No.2, and Italy from No. 11 to No.10. Tonga dropped from No.12 to No. 15; Russia from No.19 to No.22 and Australia from No.2 to No.3.
New Zealand overwhelmingly won the first place, and the only team that hasn’t taken part in the World Cup yet changed its ranking is Portugal, dropping from No.21 to No.20. Japan, who suffered a third consecutive failure in World Cup, is the 13th, and China ranks No.61.
