The market share of Android phone increased to 44% and iPhone increased to 27%

(NZweek) – According to the latest survey report released by ComScore, the Android Smartphone has expanded its advantages in America with a 43.7% market share and iPhone increased to 27.3%, while that of RIM is on a continuing decline.

During the 3 months by August 31, ComStore made a survey of 30 thousand Smartphone users in America and got the following conclusion; the ComStore data shows that the sales of Android Smartphone of many manufacturers including Samsung, Motorola, LG and HTC have got a significant growth. On the whole, the sales of Android phone increased by 5.6%; the market share amounted to 43.7% while it was 38.1% in the 3 months by May 31.

The ComStore also showed that the sales of iPhone reached 84.5 million; the market share was 27.3%, higher than 26.6% in the past 3 months. The market share of Blackberry manufacturer RIM dropped from 24.7% to 19.7%; that of Windows Phone 7 also got a slight 0.1% decrease by comparison of the past 3 months, from 5.8% to 5.7%.

Though RIM market share is on a decline, its sales of smart phones are still increasing which is due to the growing trend of the overall smart phone market.
