SARAJEVO, Feb. 4 — Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) will host the International Logistic Exercise 2013 from Feb. 4 to Feb. 15 in Sarajevo, the Ministry of Defense said on Monday.
The exercise, named Logex 13, is organized by the Ministry of Defense and Armed Forces of BiH (AFBiH) in cooperation with U.S. Joint Staff Command and NATO Allied Command Transformation, according to Bosnia news agency Fena.
The exercise is designed in accordance with NATO standards and procedures to provide assistance to member states of Partnership for Peace (PfP), it said.
About 200 soldiers from NATO and PfP member states will take part in the exercise, including Albania, BiH, Croatia, Macedonia, Montenegro and Sweden. Other countries including Armenia, Azerbaijan, Hungary, Serbia and Ukraine will send military observers to the exercise.
PfP is a program of practical bilateral cooperation between individual Euro-Atlantic partner countries and NATO. It allows partners to build up an individual relationship with NATO, choosing their own priorities for cooperation.
BiH joined the PfP in December 2006 and has been engaged in intensified dialogues with NATO to join the military alliance.
